Dumb & Dumber and The Newsroom star Jeff Daniels opened funnyman Craig Ferguson’s U.S. late night show on Friday (12Jul13) with a comedy musical ditty about a road rage encounter, called Have a Good Life.

Appearing on the show as a guest, the actor later revealed the song was inspired by a real-life event in Toronto, Canada.

He told the host, “I pulled up to a light. It turned green – the international colour for ‘you can go now’, even in Canada, and a Canadian walked in front of me, I hit the brakes, saved his life and he lost his mind.

“He was banging on the hood, screaming in Canadian… there’s profanities, he’s spewing spittle… and I turned to my wife and I said, ‘This would make a really good song!'”
